The light in our closet where we installed it comes on as soon as someone walks in. The light is bright and it's much easier to see what's in the closet. It only stays on when you're indoors and moving, but you also have the option to leave it on until you've finished whatever you're doing. Runs on AA batteries (I use rechargeable ones). Lightweight and easy to install, either with double-sided tape or with the screws provided. It took my husband less than 5 minutes to install. I like my light and will buy more. as if it weren't boxed, a box strong enough to keep it safe.
