Review on 🐱 IAMS PROACTIVE HEALTH Chicken & Salmon High Protein Dry Cat Kibble by Sarah Cannella

One of my daughter's two cats develops food intolerances after eating the same product for several months and it was recommended as it only contains proteins and fats. I first bought a 6lb bag and both cats loved it! Generally they ate less and Ol' Pookigoots kept everything in place. When I almost ran out of that 6 pound bag, I bought this larger 13 pound bag. And here the problems started. As a previous reviewer commented, it smells TERRIBLE! I remember smelling the little bag and thinking it smelled like meat like I could even eat it. But that 13 pound sack smelled awful, almost stale. I have tried feeding it to my cats anyway in case MY nose was too picky. But the fact that their bowls, to which I usually add 1/2 cup of kibble twice a day, stayed relatively full after 2 days told me they didn't like that food either. I just got a bad batch or something. Revain shipped a replacement quickly and to my chagrin it smells the same as the first one. And both of my cats had the same reaction to being fed it. They ate almost nothing, just enough to satisfy their hunger I guess. The expiration dates on both packages are far in the future, so the food should not be out of date. But why they liked the first small pack and hated the last 2 packs I have no idea. If your cat has lost her sense of smell and/or taste, you may be able to get away with feeding her this.
