That's why I always had problems with open cups. I've always drank through a straw, especially when I had braces. I have pomskies and they shed. Even with the daily vacuum cleaning and repeated dusting, a few strands of fur always float around and end up in my basket and I immediately go crazy. I buy plastic cups with lids and straws and ended up buying these products and spending the money once rather than constantly buying plastic cups with lids. It keeps my drinks cold! So cold! for a good 24 hours with ice inside. Haven't used it as a hot drink coaster yet as I love making blended iced coffees or cocktails but I'm sure it holds the heat really well. I was so skeptical about the straw that I reconsidered. It could break a tooth or hit me somewhere in the mouth like it used to with plastic straws, but the scrubber comes in handy for cocktails that dry up inside. I just ran out of plastic straws so this literally came in handy. I love purple so it suits me perfectly. The other is for the friend, so 2 packs are great! These things can get very expensive! 2 cups with 2 screw caps, 2 straws and 2 straws for the price of one. I don't regret it yet. UPDATE: THURSDAY DECEMBER 3 10:05 PM TODAY I BROUGHT THE LAST CUP OF COFFEE AROUND 12:45 PM AS IT IS WINTER AND COLD TODAY. WAIT FOR A WOOD BOX TO HEAT WHEN STORING THE FIREWOOD. Seems to be forever IT IS PLEASANT TO DRINK SOMETHING WARM. OH! BY THE WAY. YOU CAN'T FEEL THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE OF WHAT IS THIS! BE VERY CAREFUL! I FEEL IT GETTING HOT WHEN I POUR IT INTO THIS MUG. Well, I ended up leaving it on the table and sipping here and there until the temperature in the living room was back to normal. It is now 10:10 p.m. but I started it at 10:05 p.m. Out of habit I took the mug, opened the lid, took a sip and it was damn warm! like 9ish 10ish hours later?! 😯 This is a great purchase! Take it! 2 cups, screw caps, straws - 2 straight and 2 angled Well worth it!
