Not a very good buy for jewelry

The necklace was good and what I needed for my pendant. However, after about 9-10 months, the necklace started to change color. And that without wearing it every day (maybe 2-3 times a month) or bathing. I've tried using a blush rag/cloth to clean jewelry which didn't work and was afraid to use a jewelry cleaner. The necklace has now changed to gold and black. I have never had such a small piece of 925 sterling silver. I have 2 other 925 sterling silver necklaces that I have worn from another seller for more than 2 years with no problems.
