Review on πŸ•οΈ ALPS Mountaineering King Kong Camping Chair by Rey Hossain

Don't hesitate to buy this chair!

This is a great chair with many positive qualities. First of all, we wanted seating for traveling in a C-Class motorhome, the largest tailgate of which is quite small. This chair is great for that as it folds up really well into a small circular bundle which then fits into a tie-close storage bag. When fully folded the entire package is 9" in diameter, perfect for our small trash can doors which are only 23" in diameter. As for the chair itself, depending on what you're looking for, my husband and I find it very roomy and comfortable. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds. There is enough space on both sides if you are a tall person. Remember this is a camp chair, not a padded patio chair, but still the design of the sling is such that once you sit in it you won't want to get up! The fabric is heavyweight and double so quilted. I didn't call it padded but it feels like it has some padding due to the quilting. It's way more comfortable than most of those camp chairs, which are made out of flimsy, flimsy, cheap fabric that makes you feel like you can fall through them if you squat too tight. It feels very secure and the fabric hugs you while remaining durable. Speaking of durability, this chair isn't going anywhere when it's unfolded! The legs are very strong and the design meets the manufacturer's requirements. As they demonstrate in their video, when you stand up and push off with your hands at the front of your arms, it's rock solid, making it easier to stand up. The front of the armrests, just in front of the cup holders, is even padded to be very comfortable to press on. A few little bonus features are that there is a magazine/whatever holder on BOTH sides of the armrests, and there are also TWO cup holders. The chair has no sharp edges anywhere. One of the best features of the design is that there is no crossbar at the back running down the back. When you recline, the metal bar won't dig into your back or shoulders. I would put an armchair of this type in first place in its category. We've tried quite a few camp chairs, and to find one small enough to easily fit a couple in the storage space of a small RV, we haven't found one that compares. Definitely highly recommended!
