7/2021 - 2nd Summer. HOT and the A/C still works like new. Read my previous updates below for the REQUIRED MAINTENANCE INFORMATION. Nevertheless 5 stars! 11/25/20 Edit: Even though I still use the fan on the machine and it runs almost 24/7, this product still works like a charm - 8 months later. The item pictured above is now different from the one I purchased. I have 4 ventilation slats. Happy Holidays. Edited to add: TAKE 15 MINUTES TO *READ* THE INSTRUCTIONS. I NOTICE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS WHICH ARE VERY OBVIOUS INVALIDITY AND CAN BE SOLVED WITH A SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT.****TIPS FOR TEMP****YES. So I've found that it runs MUCH COOLER, LONGER if the filter is cleaned once a week. I literally spray it out of my kitchen sink hose and it's quick and easy. Then use a quicker rag and remove any debris at the bottom of the vent from the outside. The first time I did this I was shocked by a large piece of dust sliding off. this alone dropped the temperature by at least 10° at one time. There is also an unscrewing nozzle at the very bottom on the back. Then pull out the rubber insert with the tub underneath, that's condensation that needs to be drained from time to time. I do mine every few weeks, it's minimal and quick. Put that rubber mount back in place and screw on the round plastic cap so it's closed when you're done. While I'm at it, I always run the dryer with the hose it came with afterward into a small, multi-gallon Rubbermaid trash can. I set the timer because it actually overflowed when I forgot to reset it and let it run. I will run/drain the dehumidifier for at least 5 minutes during all of this maintenance and during the cycle I switch it to cooling and the water drains out (completely drained, fast) this seems to drop the temp drastically for another some weeks. without reduction. Be sure to carefully remove this hose, reinsert the rubber connector and screw on the cap. Oh, and the dehumidifier is halfway back. The manual says it all but I had to read it multiple times to fully understand it as I've never had one. Also, if the display ever reads a code, there is a reason and it is listed in the manual. That's how I found out about the drain at the bottom. Hope this helps you and others. I am glad to help! Original rating. I am very satisfied with this portable air conditioner. I was able to set it up and run it myself very easily. It works for about 15 minutes and my large room has already dropped from 91° to 74°, it's amazing and I highly recommend this device after hours of researching Revain and this definitive solution. As for noise, WHAT IS NOISE? It is AC and I can hear the fan gently blowing nice cold air. If you are looking for tranquility, good luck. This is the quietest sound I have ever heard and I will no doubt be sound asleep. BUY, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
