I bought this tablet to replace my LG G8 tablet that I bought from T-Mobile. It had mobile data capabilities but no calling capability. I bought this Samsung tablet after speaking to 4 different T-Mobile reps, the 4th was an executive. I did this because I knew T-Mobile couldn't get consistent answers to any of my questions, so it's always best to ask the same question to multiple people and find the answer yourself. In this case, some employees said it was impossible to get the tablet to make calls. Another said it wasn't a problem. In the end the supervisor said it was possible but I had better go to the store and ask the representative to set it up for me. I groaned and explained to her that the salespeople, at least in my shop, don't tell her ass from the ocean. And indeed, when I got there, the so-called "technical" rep told me it was impossible, and everyone I spoke to said it was impossible. And he should know, because he has many years of experience. So I called T-Mobile support again while I was at the store. I didn't get a chance to speak to the same manager (her name was Jennifer) but I found someone who really knew what was going on and within minutes she was setting up my tablet and launching the calling functions. I really hope Russell the "technical" rep felt like an idiot. Now the question was what would it cost me. This is another example of multiple answers to the same question. Bottom line, it's better to talk to multiple managers (not just reps) to get a straight answer. As for the tablet itself, it's very nice that you can use it to make calls. I'm sure I'll carry it with me regularly when I leave the house. I am disappointed with the screen. I knew it had a lower resolution than the A 10, but the color depth also seems to be less. It's not much worse than the A10, but I was hoping for something just as good, if not better looking. Then again, maybe it's because I have an A 10 to transfer apps and data, but it was very easy to set up. After all, I'm an avid Plex user. And another reason I wanted to replace LG was that the latest Plex update wasn't compatible with it. Although the Samsung works fine.
