If you don't have an aquarium without a top frame like the pictures, this won't work for you. Aquariums of a certain size typically have a plastic/metal frame at the top for structural support. If you have a similar framework, it will not join it! The clamp is too narrow and only clamps untreated glass. Also, because the screw is made of nylon, it's easy to break off if you don't tighten it perfectly. So don't expect the screw to last more than 2-3 distances. I don't even know if the lamp itself is good because it's useless for my setup. EDIT: To point out that I took the bulb that came with it and put it in another bulb just to salvage some of this product. The lamp worked for ten days and burned out. This order was a total loss on all fronts. Don't order that.
