Ordered this for our workshop to replace a hanging tennis ball. It got to work, I opened it up and put the batteries in and it worked great, the lights and lasers turned on with the slightest movement and turned off after about 30 seconds of no movement. But when I installed it at home and plugged in the included power cord it didn't turn off, we installed a camera in the garage so I could check from my phone that the laser and LED were still on and they were , 10 minutes later also no movement in the garage during this time. So frustrated, I took the unit down from the ceiling and the included power cord. Now only from the battery as power, works perfectly, switches on with every movement and switches off again after about 30 seconds, great, but plug it back into the supplied power source and it just works without switching off. So I'm looking at the power adapter that came with the unit. It says 6V is a 6V output. I think it's strange because the backup battery is three AA 1.5V batteries. I'm wondering why it's running on three 1.5v batteries (that's 4.5 volts total) and the power supply was sent on 6 volts and not 4.5? Browsing through other power supplies I have for LED bulbs, I found one for 4.5 volts with the same connector. I hooked it up to a laser unit and it works great! Turns on with every movement and turns off again after about 30 seconds, cool! To test it again, I plug it back into the included 6V power adapter and it just goes on and on until the unit starts to heat up. So overall I would give it 5 stars if it worked as it should without having to swap out the power supply for one that actually makes it work properly. I read reviews from some other people complaining about the same issue but they were told that when they open the door to check the lights and lasers come on and they think they're always on , but they are not. Well mine were always on, I suspect others were probably always on as well. Okay enough, how does it work? I bought a dual laser model and set it up in the middle of the garage where my wife parks, her car fits "just" in the garage with about a 1 inch gap on each mirror as she pulls into the garage opening, so moved her car into the garage opening so that her mirrors were about 1ft from the garage entrance at the narrowest point, then I aimed one of the lasers at the center of her dash so she had a visual cue as she entered that the car was centered. Then we pulled the car in just enough so that the garage door was about an inch from the rear bumper and I pointed a second laser at her dash, done! Then I started her car and tried it, worked like a charm! So glad it worked, not so glad I had to order another power supply for my led light charger to replace the one that currently works in the garage parking guide.
