Nitrogen pressure test performed for a mini-split system. Connect this tool to one of the service ports. What happened was that there was another higher quality corer tool on the other service port. As I filled the system with nitrogen at 450psi, I heard a steady hiss and watched the pressure gauge drop steadily. Isolate the problem on this block and make sure it is plugged in tight. The leak persisted, so I eventually removed it and connected the line directly to the service port (no core tool in between). I also left another (better) instrument in place. System depressurized. No leaks, no pressure drop - lasts exactly 12 hours. I guess I'm not as bad at making/connecting refrigerant flare fittings as I feared. Bottom Line: This coil removal tool is clearly defective or not manufactured to the required tolerances. Bought two and sent both back. The old truth: you get what you pay for - a lesson I still have to relearn from time to time. Now it will be easy to bite the bullet and buy better name brand devices for twice the price.
