Review on Nikon D7100 DX-Format CMOS Digital πŸ“· SLR (Body Only) with 24.1 Megapixel Sensor by Paul Gim ᠌

Product satisfying the quality of the product, good price.

I bought a carcass to replace my beloved D5100. I have been using since March 2022. I want to note right away that on the carcass that I bought there was a broken pixel on the screen. Changed in the store! But soon the pixel appeared again. Taking into account the fact that the density of pixels on the screen is quite high - this very pixel is almost invisible (I decided not to bother). I want to draw attention to several features of this unit. Firstly, a 24-megapixel matrix is good on the one hand, and bad on the other. On the one hand, there are great cropping opportunities (if your optics allow you to take pictures of sufficient quality), on the other hand, the file size has become noticeably larger (you need to buy a fast card, very fast, otherwise you will wait until files from the buffer are written to the card). Secondly, these same 24 megapixels, while the sensor area remained the same size, led to a decrease in the size of the subpixel and, as a result, an increase in the noise level. I myself shoot at ISO no more than 640 (in lightroom, in principle, noise is corrected quite well). Thirdly, the location of the buttons and knobs on the case is phenomenally convenient. You don't have to go to the menu anymore! Well, almost no need :) Fourthly, the camera is quite light and fits very comfortably in the hand. It's especially nice when you're filming in a club! In the end, I will say that the camera, although advanced, is still amateur. The result for the money shows good. It is also worth noting that it is not the camera that takes pictures, but the photographer! So learn to take pictures, and don't chase megapixels!

Pros
  • -Excellent ergonomics; - small weight; -location of buttons and handles on the case; -large and bright viewfinder; - the absence of a low-pass filter leads to an increase in sharpness.
Cons
  • -Small buffer (mentioned in almost all comments - I will not stop); - the level of noise on the new Toshibov matrix is high (most likely this is due to two factors: an increase in the number of megapixels and the removal of a low-pass filter);
