You may have looked at the product's images and videos and found that this chair is compatible with your current standing desk. In all images of using this product, everyone is comfortable sitting on a high table surface with their feet on the floor. This is not the reality. This is a marketing ploy. To those who gave this product 4 or 5 stars (hell, even 2 or 3 stars), I have a question: how? It may not be that all of the following conditions apply to you: The height of your high table is such that your arms are bent at an ergonomic angle of 90-100 degrees and your forearms are parallel to the table surface when standing (see overview) - you can switch between sitting and standing in this chair, as well as 1) no need to adjust the height of your desk and 2) also maintain the same ergonomic arm angle as when standing - your feet are flat on the floor (not the tips of your toes, but yours feet are flat) If you rated this chair highly then you are probably on your way to developing carpal tunnel syndrome if you haven't already. Excuse me. As for me, I'm 6'0" and concerned about my bone and muscle health. I have a treadmill, so I need to be able to transition between sitting and standing without sacrificing ergonomic hand support My standing table is about 43 1/2" from the treadmill, the perfect height for my arms to bend 90-100 degrees and my forearms to be parallel to the table surface when standing. When I raise the seat of this chair so I have the exact same ergonomic hand position when seated, my legs literally hang 10" over the treadmill as seen in the picture (not to mention almost impossible to sit properly). Why don't they have an adjustable footrest like every other drafting table or - Chair provided? The worst thing is that this chair inherently leans forward so it is literally impossible to feel stable.I have tried standing bends as per the vid eos and pictures shown but it compresses my tailbone and I can't get used to it. Also, it's a chair. You must sit in a chair. If I have to lean against it, then not while sitting, but while standing. What were they thinking? I knew before I bought it that this chair only had a 3.7 rating, but I had to take a chance because it was the only chair I could find: it had a base small enough to sit on to fit my treadmill. - can be raised to a height that provides adequate ergonomic hand support. What makes this chair viable? - Stabilize the chair so it doesn't tilt - Add a height-adjustable footrest - Make the seat larger so I can have a third-party cushion that hangs my tailbone perfectly. So I think it goes back to the drawing board when trying to find an office chair that suits my needs. I'll probably have to take a regular wide base tall office chair or bar stool and set it on top of a large piece of square plywood that I put on the treadmill when I need to sit down. I will definitely be returning this stool.
