Both boxes were sent by the supplier apparently not new but were returned. (The first was missing parts and the box was badly torn and sealed with tape, the second was opened and retaped with less barbarism but still bubble wrapped) and neither came with instructions. Nowhere in the purchase information was it indicated that it was a return. In general, its use is quite intuitive, press the joint "buttons" and move the legs where you want. This design makes it an object that can be used in one position, otherwise you would waste all your time, by constantly moving individual joints. Everything that's meant to be great for the 2018 MacBook Pro, giving you the option to stand on an existing desk, plus optional couch use cases. It's small so you can easily move it around when you don't need it. Basically it does what it should.
