We have an old bathroom with built-in lighting over the vanity. I tried many solutions but with three of them with 100 watt bulbs it was still too dark in there. I stumbled across this beauty and am very pleased! It screws straight into the recessed light fitting, you adjust the length you want and slide off the cap, add a shade of your choice, screw in the bulb and voila! You change your lighting and look instantly without paying an electrician. I recommend you wait until you have screwed in the plug and adjusted the wire before putting on the lampshade and bulb. This makes installation easier without adding weight. The locket's cap and lid (I don't know what it's called) are made of metal and are a very nice color that suits many decorating options. To keep the medallion in place we just put some sticky putty, the kind you use to hang posters, under the edge and it stays ok, looks like a permanent installation but even better if you rent it because you can take it. We thought about buying two more for other recessed lights, but even with the bulb now only 60watts of light is enough, brighter than 300watts together, so save on installation, you can take it with you and save on bill every day for Electricity.
