Review on VIVOSUN 8 Inch Noise πŸ”‡ Reduction Silencer for Inline Duct Fan by Jordan Newkirk

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reduces noise by 10dB, ie HALF

After connecting the carbon filter and motor this is the best air purifier I have ever used. Removes the most aggressive chemicals ie THINNERS and acrylic paint in about 30 minutes. We have an artist who set up an art studio in a small 11 x 11 bedroom and before that the smell was awful. When this thing works, it eliminates all chemical smells completely and quickly. I originally hooked it up to this motor: (Black Motor Shown) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071Y5JKTN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title ?ie=UTF8&psc=1 However this was too inefficient and generated a lot of heat. And when the fan was turned off, it hummed loudly. So I switched to THIS motor: (The motor is in the muffler) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S27SQL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00 ?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is a HyperStealth fan with a built in muffler. Now it's much, MUCH higher, but so quiet and energy efficient. The fan does not generate any noticeable heat development, it can be throttled to low speeds and is very quiet. At low it is literally inaudible. To make it even quieter I put an extra silencer on top: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CTM0L6O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And now we have an ULTRA SILENT, high performance -, super efficient dust / chemical air purifier. Yes! This silencer on the top reduces the sound from about 68dB to 58dB and cuts the sound in half. It is impressive. Look at the setup in the picture: I added a small 45 degree vent at the top. Now it looks like a chimney. blowing clean air. HA!
