I paid $10 more to get the one with the pointy tip - yet the order went through as this one with the Arc - funny how they got the higher price right. I use hot knives to reshape plastic body work from current motorcycles to retrofit older models. I have been using the little craft versions with exacto blade tips for decades - and thought I would go with a more expensive and higher power one. First off - it won't do a plain cut any faster than the smaller, lighter, cheaper craft ones - and you can't cut a nice line with this 1 inch plus wide blade. Even on a straight line it leaves a ridge of melted plastic in it's wake. This tip is for cutting cloth or plastic sheets - and it is worthless to me. If you want another tip - you have to buy another gun to get that tip. Well I already paid for that other tip so I'm not going on this merry go round again. I've used a hot knife to cut fabric before. They use this blade - but have a foot to slide th cloth through - this doesn't even have that - it is totally worthless to me.
