This printer is a nightmare. I bought the first one at the end of August 2018. (In addition to the toner, you'll have to buy a separate photoconductor for about a hundred dollars.) The printer said it had a paper jam as soon as I turned it on. . I spent a week clearing a "paper jam" in a device that wouldn't print a single page. After two days of trying to contact the customer service center, I found that the machine was out of service. OK. I was told they would send me a second car. The second machine arrived almost two weeks later which I couldn't fault Brother as there was a hurricane but customer service gave me a specific date to expect a new machine and didn't contact them. A week after the appointment I still haven't received a call, the second device finds out during a test print that the toner is not genuine. Of course I installed a new original photoconductor and toner. After restarting the device, the printer writes that there is no toner. I've tried reinstalling the toner thirteen times and the only message I get is NO TONER. I HAVE INSTALLED THE TONER AND DRUM IN THE PRINTER AND THE PRINTER SAYS THAT THE CARTRIDGE IS NOT INSTALLED. I just don't know what to do. It's mid-September and I have to print hundreds of pages every other day. Several times a day, I go to the library to print out all my papers while two broken machines sit morosely in my poor grad school. Should have gotten an inkjet printer from Target. I'm sure I'll be punished if I suggest that a poor PhD student deserves a fancy printer. DON'T WASTE TIME AND MONEY. GOHP.
