So my fiance and I are doing a demo of our basement ceiling and with wall to wall carpeting we really wanted to protect as much as possible. . So we layered this plastic, two huge outdoor tarps, and then painted them with canvas. We thought we had every inch, but when we removed the demo pieces and installed the loose drywall etc, we found that the plastic had completely lost its grip on the carpet and was crumpled in all sorts of weird ways under the tarp . The carpet around the edges was completely marred by dust and other debris which was a big disappointment. Basically, that plastic is just a giant piece of cling film that turns out to be useless and just not worth the hassle.
