You need the right power cord, and that's it.
I bought a refurbished i7 laptop and when I plugged it in to install Windows 10 I got a message saying it had the wrong power cord. I've been using the i7 and its flimsy power cord for months with terrible results. The computer was slow and often freezes. Remembering that first post, I bought the Dell AC Adapter 180 Precision, the original power cord for this computer. It made a big difference. You can't run a powerful computer with a weak power cord. Now that I have the correct cable, the computer works as it should. I wish I had bought the right cable when I first got the message.
