Review on MARCHWAY Lightweight Folding Camping Chair, Stable Portable Compact For Outdoor Camp, Travel, Beach, Picnic, Festival, Hiking, Backpacking, Supports 330Lbs (Blue) by Sin Gabriel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable chair, easy to assemble, very sturdy. Not quite small enough for serious backpacking.

I commend Marchway for designing a new chair style. There is a very common style on the market, and then there is the newer "square" frame. This is in between, as a triangular frame. Unfortunately, this frame style is still pretty bulky and maybe a teeny bit heavy (compared to other backpacking chairs; it's still ridiculously small and light for a general "camping" chair). I have a similarly-priced chair that I take backpacking with me that is under 2lbs and packs up drastically smaller than this (and it's none of those style frames I mentioned). However, that other chair of mine sits really low to the ground and is hard to get in and out of; frankly, unless you're in excellent shape, it may be impossible to get out of unless you roll on the ground. This chair is at a much more reasonable height and is easy to use. Still, there are lighter and smaller (packed) backpacking alternatives on the market with similar seat heights. I am giving this chair 4 stars because I don't think this is innovative enough in the weight and packed size category, unfortunately. That being said, I use it as a spare chair while regular camping, taking to events or freinds' houses, and it goes in my Pickleball bag for court-side sitting. This chair is perfect for those activities. It is solid, comfortable, and easy to assemble. Yes, you have to sort of muscle the ends of the frame into the seat, but all chairs like this require the same type of assembly that I've ever seen.
