Incomprehensible instructions, but it works.

The kit came complete but the instructions are terrible. I had the hardest time figuring out what to do. I ended up catching a bullet out of Pella's patio door and simply used the lock provided. Apparently, after disassembling the patio door handle mechanism, you need to insert the latch mechanism through the slot, then add the inside handle, and then cut the length of the shank at the lock. It comes with a long stem, but the instructions don't tell you what to do. Only YOUTUBE has answers from other door manufacturers. If you remove the original hole from the door to use the one that comes with the kit, a word of warning: stick a pencil or something in the bottom hole of the door frame or the hole will fall to the bottom of the inside of the door ie what about happened to me. I used the original mortise lock and the original outer and inner handle and latch, I only used the lock. It would be advisable to file the teeth a bit so that the key slides smoothly into the lock. In general, the lock works. also, instead of buying the whole handle assembly just get the lock, i should have done that but who knows. The kit works, but your diligence in assembling it will have you pulling your hair out. But I'm sure if you're a locksmith you could do it in less than 30 minutes. It took me about 4 hours to figure it out. But it really works. Remember that as you add the inside deadbolt handle to the door frame and the lock handle to the outside, you're gradually shortening the lock shank. There are markings where to cut. I used the dremel little by little, checking the fit, cutting some more etc until it finally fit. It works out.

Pros

Cons
