I bought this knife in August for my husband's birthday. When he opened the box I could tell he felt it was cheap and wouldn't last long. He opens plastic bags, cuts pieces of rubber, as a mechanic he needs a reliable knife and he likes the Hawk Beat. A few days passed and he told me that he liked this knife, it was light and very sharp. But now he had lost it and couldn't find it. I saw that he was upset and kept watching. We finally found a chair with him. A few days ago he said I lost the knife again and it was in here somewhere. He came home yesterday and said again that he found it in the car he was servicing. Then he asked if I could get him another one because he didn't want to be without this knife anymore. So I felt like I should get 2 extra.
