Review on ๐Ÿ’จ AC Infinity AIRCOM S10 Quiet Cooling Blower Fan System for Receivers, Amps, DVRs, and AV Cabinet Components - 17 Inch Front Exhaust by Scott Pentapati

The difference is between 125F and 85F!

I have been using this company's case fans for several years. In fact, you can see one of them and the controller in one of the pictures. They work fine but my receiver, a Marantz SR6011, was still very hot. It sits in the front open TV stand with a 3 inch clearance to the glass shelf above. There's also a 2-inch gap between the glass shelf and the back wall that allows for some upward airflow. But maybe that's not enough for the single fan to pop out at the top. I only recently found out about this product and thought it would be more efficient than just adding more case fans. I was torn between this and the T10, which has a digital screen (like my case fans) and USB ports for connecting additional case fans. In the end I decided I didn't need a screen and I didn't need the ability to add extra fans. Setup was easy. It was a power supply, put the device on it and turned it on. My receiver reached a temperature of around 125ยฐF after about 20 minutes of a Blu-ray movie as shown in my picture. After installing the S10 and setting it to "Smart," it ran at full blast for about 30 minutes and was very audible. But not very annoying, especially with loud movies. After that it was reduced to about half speed and was barely audible in the film. The temperature at the output of the device was around 85 degrees Fahrenheit at this point, and lifting the S10 to measure the receiver directly showed around 88 degrees Fahrenheit on the receiver itself. This is a huge improvement. By the end of the movie, the fan speed had dropped to 1/4. Now the S10 only turns on at 1/4 fan speed when Smart Mode is on, and fan noise is inaudible even in the quietest dialogue. When watching a movie at high volume, the fan speed increases to 1/2. All in all a great product, worth it. Make sure you choose the right version: front, rear or top exhaust.
