Review on Xprite 35.5 Inch 32 LED Strobe Traffic Advisor Emergency Warning Light Bar with 13 Flashing Patterns for Fire Trucks, Cars, and Emergency Vehicles - Red by Patrick Hilzer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall happy with lighting and lighting accessories

I bought this for my firefighter personal response vehicle and it has been running for about 4 months. The installation went smoothly and there is sufficient flexibility for different vehicles. Mine is mounted in the rear window of my Corolla so I can't speak to the weather resistance. The headlights are TIR, so very bright at the front, but not noticeable at an angle in daylight. However, I use this light bar for the rear window, which means most of the traffic I encounter is directly behind me. I haven't had to use traffic recommendations since installing it, but I'm sure it will work. It has a controller separate from the lightbar that allows me to control all (about 17) different flash patterns from the front of the car. There are two downsides to this light bar that I can live with, but others that a more professional installer might want to know about. First, the design is large and bulky compared to more expensive rivals. There is also a knock from the block. Every blow or windy day hitting the roof plate makes the lantern rattle. I assure you it is securely attached to me and will not rattle due to my installation. That's tolerable for me too, as I'm just starting out and working on an older machine. Second, there is no direct control over the traffic alert feature. The controller just lets you scroll through flashing patterns, which is something many people don't expect when they see a "traffic alert". Again, I'll live with that and plan on putting on some sort of reflector to show me what flash pattern I have, but in the meantime I'll just have to run back and forth to see what my lightbar is telling me. I am happy with the purchase and will continue to consider the Xprite brand.
