I'm just gonna come forward and say that this is probably one of the most satisfying helmets I've had the opportunity to wear. I've tried my friend's helmets and more, but they seem to be overpriced, or underwhelming in the quality department. The 1Storm struck a perfect harmony. The build quality is astonishing. I keep expecting things to fall apart but they just keep trudging on strong. The shaded inner visor is easy to pop down and pop back up on the move, it is a bit inconvenient if stopped unless you're in neutral because your left hand has the clutch pulled in. The modular aspect of it seems to work seamlessly, it took me a couple minutes to find the latch the first time (it's behind a fabric cover on the underside of the chin) but once I did I never needed to look again, I could just unlatch it with feel alone. The modular flip-up also clicks securely into place, if it's not locked shut it'll tilt up a little in a noticeable fashion until you close it. If you want to ride with it up, it'll stay up even when you're braking hard at a sudden red light or traffic. I'm almost done, I promise. One thing I didn't notice until I had the helmet for 2 or 3 weeks and either is not mentioned or I may have misread, is the Bluetooth headset cut outs inside of the helmet. Once you pop up the comfort lining it's easy to access. Last but not least I do have a small point of criticism, mind you it is not enough to detract a full star from this helmet. The buttons to pop the comfort liner back into place are a bit finicky. The ones closest to the chin in the jaw area especially. The liner itself doesn't move but I do notice the small separation when putting the helmet on and my OCD personality has to fix it every time. Barely takes a second. After a while of owning it and taking on the free way I have to say one really big downside is the wind noise. At above 60 mph the helmets wind noise increases exponentially. I’m not sure this is exclusively a problem with this helmet but my ears were ringing after a 2.5 hour ride and it’s definitely a problem I’m trying to remedy. A set of ear plugs could fix it which I’m working on buying.
