Verbatim BDXL Surface Branded M-Discs 100GB BD-R (write once) are excellent. The cost per gigabyte is currently between $0.11 and $0.12 per gigabyte regardless of the drive capacity you choose, making increasing capacity just easier and less time-consuming. They are excellent for archiving and backup, true backup, as a medium that will stand the test of time and weather disaster if placed in a good, safe place. If you are looking for an affordable, higher capacity optical medium, this is it. The M-Disc will last much longer than a standard BD-R. That extra heartiness will cost you three times as much, but at $11 a disc, it's worth it. I have attached images of the disks themselves and the ImgBurn output where I just wrote a 95GB data set to a 100GB disk. In 4 speeds no problem at all. I used an LG WH16NS40 optical drive ($65). Everything worked perfectly with these Vertabim drives. I used ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 on Win7 64bit. I didn't have to do anything, no firmware updates, no drivers, nothing. The drive initially read blank 100GB BDXL discs and the drive recorded the data perfectly. This was fully verified after recording. This is a perfect 1:1 copy.
