I check this product for reference only. There is dust on every disc because they are made in China. Spindle packs made in Japan have no surface dust. This results in the operating system being unable to read the disk or being unresponsive. M-Disc is very expensive, so I cannot recommend this product.

I tried to archive my photos on an HHD disc but several times the discs failed or computer OS updates could not open the disc . That is the answer. With 100 GB I can pack several years of photos on one hard drive. Advertised as a lifetime archive, they're always handy and I don't have to hot-plug the drive. You need to make sure you have a BD M drive for copying photos and disc burning software.

I won't be around long enough to see if the drive lasts as long as they claim, so I'll just let that happen. I can record content fairly easily - no coasters. What I don't like is that 100GB isn't really 100GB. You have to set aside 10% for something.
