Dust on the surface, not tried yet

I check this product for reference only. There is dust on every disc because they are made in China. Spindle packs made in Japan have no surface dust. This results in the operating system being unable to read the disk or being unresponsive. M-Disc is very expensive, so I cannot recommend this product.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Good but not great

Archive Disc M. suitable for BD-R discs

I tried to archive my photos on an HHD disc but several times the discs failed or computer OS updates could not open the disc . That is the answer. With 100 GB I can pack several years of photos on one hard drive. Advertised as a lifetime archive, they're always handy and I don't have to hot-plug the drive. You need to make sure you have a BD M drive for copying photos and disc burning software.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Everything OK

It's nice to have long-term, large-format random-access storage

I won't be around long enough to see if the drive lasts as long as they claim, so I'll just let that happen. I can record content fairly easily - no coasters. What I don't like is that 100GB isn't really 100GB. You have to set aside 10% for something. I'm sure there's a good technical reason why you can't plan on writing 100GB of content to a 100GB drive, but Verbatim should either add an extra 10% to get you that 100GB, or this Make 100GB clearer. . . barely means 100GB.

  • Great design
Cons
  • Doubtful

I hope to live another 100 years to do an afterthought.

I use these discs to archive photos that I have on thousands of CDs. So, I get about 140 CDs on one of them. You can only write about 91.8GB and it takes 1 hour 35 minutes on average. I check the results by taking a finished disc and inserting it into another computer's BD drive. You have to be patient, it may take some time for the content to appear, especially if you have a lot of files instead of a few large files. happy with the results and I hope they outlive me. -- One of the reasons is…

I burned two of these discs, both of which were "free ".

The first disc I burned was in an LG LG Electronics Ultra Slim Portable Blu-ray/DVD Writer Optical Drive - BP60NB10, the recording took about two hours using Ashhamoop Recording Studio 2021 but four hours to check. two hours with a check for another two hours; it completed without errors. The only problem I have is that 100GB disc cannot be played on standalone LG UBKM9 Streaming Ultra-HD Blu-ray Player. These 100GB discs are unreadable in offline 4k blue. ray player, the problem is that the…

Legal 100GB M-Discs

Verbatim BDXL Surface Branded M-Discs 100GB BD-R (write once) are excellent. The cost per gigabyte is currently between $0.11 and $0.12 per gigabyte regardless of the drive capacity you choose, making increasing capacity just easier and less time-consuming. They are excellent for archiving and backup, true backup, as a medium that will stand the test of time and weather disaster if placed in a good, safe place. If you are looking for an affordable, higher capacity optical medium, this is it…

One of the most promising ways to backup your media files.

I'm serious. Is that so. Because think about it. You may have a tape, disk, solid state drive, or even crystal. But with all that choice, it makes sense. Tape: They have a shelf life of around 25 years and the LTO format or anything else on tape means you need a tape recorder that can load and record to it. Their purchase costs thousands of dollars, but on the downside, it's a cheap band. But in 25 years, try to find a tape recorder that you have on hand when you're ready to go through your old

It worked, but I made some coasters first!

Well, my goal. I have about 90 gigabytes of data (like Word, Excel, PDF, etc.) for my business that I wanted to back up onto a single drive and then store the drive off-site in case of a fire. I wanted to be able to put a disc in any computer and read the files without having to download disc reading software. I have a thin LG BD-RE BU20N drive on a HP i7 sff desktop. I also wanted the drive to be persistent, meaning you can't change it once it's burned. I put all my files in one directory on…
