Review on Snugg IPad Air 2 Leather Smart Cover Case With Kick Stand And Built-In Stand - Black by Neil Biondo

Not meant for lying in bed!

I used to own an iPad 2, and the case I used had elastic bands that would secure the cover in place allowing me to lie on my back in bed and use my iPad. My old case had a rotating hand strap as well, which was really convenient. For the Snugg, I knew the hand strap didn't rotate when I bought it, so I have no qualms with that. However, I didn't realize that there was no way to secure the case in the open position. This means the iPad can fall on my face if I were to use the hand strap while lying in bed. This is an unfortunate oversight on my part as I thought that would logically be built into a case where the hand strap was on the cover. This wasn't falsely advertised in anyway, but rather a mistake in my understanding of it. That being said, I would probably have still gone with this case simply because there are not many other good cases for iPad air 2 at this time that have all the features I would like. Since there are openings in the case for the buttons, I may just lace through some string or something so that I can keep the cover open.Tthe case is made of good material, and is indeed a "snugg" fit. The smart cover is nice since my old case didn't have one of those. I haven't really needed to use the stand part yet, but did try it out to see how it worked. It did it's job, although I do worry that I will break the little cardboard piece that you pull out if you accidentally were to knock over the iPad.If you are looking for a nice clean case with a cover and a non-rotating hand strap, then the Snugg is a pretty good choice.*EDIT 5/13/2016 - Since my last review, my iPad suffered some scratches and dents on the corners where the case does not cover. You can see that it doesn't cover those areas in the picture they have. Stupid on my part for assuming it would still be protected. I ended up not really using the hand strap for this case as it felt pointless without straps to secure the iPad in. Since then, I have stopped using this case. I use another more durable case (otterbox) that doesn't have a hand strap, but covers all corners and has a flip cover. The otterbox is more expensive, but much more durable. If you want a cheaper case, I think the Snugg is still a good choice, but it won't protect the corners of your iPad.

Pros
  • Suitable for business meetings, traveling, and everyday use
Cons
  • The kickstand may be difficult to use
