Review on Xantrex C40 Charge Controller by Melvin Goerge

These are great controllers but this time I got a lemon. After a while it stopped loading completely. Thanks to Revain I was able to easily provide proof of purchase and the company sent me a replacement. I installed it and it didn't work from the start. It took me a while to double check everything and make sure the problem wasn't something else, but the controller definitely didn't work on day one. So far I have spent a lot of time on this topic. I ended up buying another smaller controller, I stopped it where the c40 was and it immediately started loading. I still think they are good units, I just had bad luck with mine. I have a lot of experience with solar panels and know that electronic components can fail, so I'll stick with it. When Xantrex was called Trace I had a C12 that looked like a smaller C40 and lasted over 25 years. I'm waiting for a response from Xantrex, wish me luck!
