Review on Inferno Stove Top Thermometer (3-30) - Precision Temperature Measurement for Stove Tops by Saul Franco

Customer service should have been honest

I originally bought a stovepipe thermometer but after reading that it would require drilling a hole in my double walled stovepipe I thought I might need another instrument. I called support, they told me I can't use stove pipe on stove top as they are calibrated completely different. Okay, who am I to argue? I ordered the Stove Top version and when I received it it looked identical to the Stove Pipe version except it was a different color with different color coding areas but the temp number markings were in the exact same places. I thought there was probably a different type of metal used to power the sensor, that's how they do the calibration, but they look the same except for the color. No, put both on the stove and both will read EXACTLY the same temperatures. Checked it out a few times. The Pipe version shows the same temperature as the Stove Top version every time. You can see in the photo both show just under 450 degrees. Thank you Condar.com for not being completely honest and charging me another $30. You could tell me to ignore the words and use numeric degrees, it's the same device. But no, you told me I would have to buy another one because the Stove Pipe version wouldn't work on Stove Top. 450 degrees is 450 degrees.
