I debated getting a new MACBOOK AIR but I really hate the ‘let’s get to know each other’ period of a new phone or computer. So I bought this. I had read how you really needed to have a ‘professional’ install it. But when it arrived I checked it out and quite honestly a child could do it. Literally. It came with two special tiny magnetic screwdrivers. Lose those and it’s over with! Just unscrew the back cover and it’s important to note that there are two different lengths of screws. So I put them on the packing foam in the same positions as they were in the cover. This statement also works for when you unscrew the battery itself. You will see one little set of wires pull them apart and remove the battery. Installing the new works exactly as above but , obviously in reverse. If you can read and follow extremely simple and very limited directions you’ve got this. It takes a little common sense. I’m 63, disabled, have crippled fingers, Parkinson’s and about as non-mechanical as anyone can be and if I could remove the old and install the new one anyone can.
