First off this is a poorly designed part
Now I have broken 3 of them and all 3 were different brands. If a lot of snow gets on the rear window of the BMW X5 and you turn on the rear wiper, it will most likely break on the linkage of the lever. They're cheap enough so it doesn't matter. If you have an X5, buy a few, you live in a snowy area. I had one where I needed a puller to get rid of my hand so be careful. It's a good idea to apply some anti-seize to the part that attaches to the car.
