Review on 🎨 Sargent Art 32-6048 Artist Quality 48ct Professional Watercolor Set - Tin Case, 48 Count (Pack of 1) by Carol Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I would rate them higher if the price was lower.

Let me start by saying these paints aren't bad, they are very similar in quality to Prima Marketing Watercolor Confections and Jane Davenport Watercolors and if you already have these watercolors this set will do most likely just duplicate them. The jar is really nice, the colors are good, but I think this palette should cost a little less. I paid $50 which is honestly a lot less than buying so many paints in the Prima line, but I was still expecting more with so many good quality, inexpensive watercolors coming out these days. The colors are rich and vibrant BUT if you go and blend they get a bit opaque and you can end up with messy blends if you're not careful. They are not suitable for glazing as they are somewhat opaque and the underlying color wants to show through. I like that they give information about pigments, but some pigments are weird and not commonly found in artists' paints. These colors work best for mixed media artists who want to overlay other media and just want a bright, saturated color for minimal mixing. I have a full review on my YouTube channel thefrugalcrafter.
