We bought a couple of these cameras, because our neighbor stole from us. We had no choice but to spend the money on surveillance cameras if we don't want another break-in or have him sneak around on our woods. They have night vision. That is what we need, because these cameras can see in total darkness. it keeps the neighbor away. i discovered before we had our surveillance cameras that i could see little blue lights in the woods all over the place. At first i didn't know what it was. Our neighbor was all over our land at night and near our home. i was terrified. We absolutely need cameras in order to have peace of mind and be able to sleep at night peacefully. in the meantime i think i figured out what those little blue lights were. At first i was alarmed by a really bright flashlight behind our window. it was amazing that i saw it at exactly that time because i was just going to bed. That is when i went outside and saw the little blue lights later-on.Ever since we've had cameras with night vision the neighbor has not come near them, because they glow red. That is why it's such a good deterrent. My point and shoot camera broke and we couldn't afford a $ 110.- camera at the time so i bought a Besteker camcorder. it did not work well with my product review videos, but it did wonders with the those little bluish (i think they were blue) lights in the woods.it was amazing how well you could see those when looking through the lens of the Besteker. Later-on i put the memory stick file on the computer and to my amazement i could hear a beep. i remember one situation when i filmed and came closer to where i thought our neighbor was hiding. Something inside me said to not go any further or i may be shot. He usually carries a hand gun in his pocket.i got so so very scared and walked back slowly while praying. Later-on when listening to that particular film clip on the computer the sound intensified louder and faster/stronger the closer i came to where i thought he was hiding. in the meantime i figured that he may have been wearing some device and googled what it could have been. it may have been night vision goggles and that would show him where all the night vision surveillance cameras are and that he could see in the dark with those. i really don't know exactly what it is or how it works.
