Review on SHANY Masterpiece Layers Makeup Original by Susan Stephens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great idea, poor execution - not everyday adult makeup. But the kids loved it!

It comes in many colors and I think it's a good set for those who want to try new looks and don't expect quality or durability. The eyeshadows are not highly pigmented, so they are very light and don't blend well like chalk. Lipsticks are odd shades and have a slight odor - not bad, just noticeable. They bleed and fade quickly, I mainly use them to blend with other lipsticks or to subtly tone another lip color. The packaging is chic and I love the clear and numbered pallet descriptions. Fits perfectly on a bathroom shelf. There is a wide range of blushes, bronzers, contours and concealers, but many of them look cheap or in colors that nobody would wear. Don't expect to be able to use this kit for a flawless full face that lasts more than a few hours. Foundations and concealers are quite oily so they may not be suitable for people with oily skin, but at least they are thick and give full coverage. Simply rinse off with soap and water or makeup wipes. I ended up giving this makeup kit to my kids to play with at a sleepover and they loved it, it was a shade that suited every skin tone so no one felt left out. So I think this might be the best buy for kids and teens to play around with and experiment with the craziest shades. I know many of these kids asked their parents for a makeup kit when they went home that day. work well for theatrical productions or Halloween.
