This is not PIPE male thread. It can't be because it has a sealing washer and nut used to seal it in the hole. Male Pipe Threads (MPT) are THREADED THREADS and a nut will not work on them, they start less than 3/4 and go up a bit so threaded PIPE will seal if thread sealant is used. ASK YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE DEALER TO EXPLAIN. 3/4 inch PVC or galvanized PIPE is NOT suitable for this fitting. And my device was ONLY HORIZONTALLY ADJUSTABLE, NOT VERTICALLY ADJUSTABLE. HOW IS THE PRODUCT < IT'S GREAT AND WORKS WELL. LIKE A SWIMMER IN A TOILET, IT FLOWS FAST AND THEN SLOWS WHEN THE WATER LEVEL RISES UNTIL IT FULLY SWITCHES.
