I am so glad I bought this desk. I wanted something open and airy, not heavy and cumbersome, and this was just right. I added a clamp-on keyboard tray, which works perfectly on this desk.I think this was the simplest assembly job I've ever completed. It took probably 45 minutes to do by myself, but I was being careful to get it right the first time, and I also cleaned up as I went. The directions did NOT describe how to put the shelves on the right side as opposed to the left, but it was easy to figure out what to switch to reverse it. I've seen a few reviews that mention the holes being a bit off, but if you do NOT tighten the frame down completely when you assemble the shelf side, you get a little wiggle room when bolting on the shelves and top board. With a little flex there, you can gently pull the frame to align with the holes in the wood, and then go back at the end and tighten all the bolts down the rest of the way. I had no problem getting things to align doing it that way.GREAT desk at a great price, and it looks quite nice. I'm very pleased with it.
