Review on 💙 Rit Dye 8 oz Navy Blue Fabric Dye - 8 Fluid Ounces by Kristen Reid

I wanted to experiment with the Rit dye to see if it is. Just as described, so I tried on a new t-shirt - 70% cotton, 30% synthetic. It was hoped that Rit's navy blue dye would turn a light blue shirt into a navy blue without soiling the white lettering on the shirt. To ensure the correct dye was used, I emailed the photo to Rit and they asked their "color expert" to decide which dye to use. The positives are that Rit's customer service was helpful and the white writing on the t-shirt was not helpful. very profusely dying, mostly white but with a very, very light bluish cast. However, the shirt failed despite using 2/3 bottles of navy blue paint and following directions for a 45 minute hot water agitation session. faded denim. Helpful but not what I was hoping for. And the seams at the seams turned out to be much lighter - it must have been a synthetic thread that did not absorb paint. the shirt is warm - luckily instead of putting an old towel in the wash I used an old pair of Levis as the shirt has discolored. I put the t-shirt through the wash cycle twice more, rinsed three times and put it in the dryer. Afterward, the t-shirt had an odor similar to that of a paint bottle. I washed it again with some dark blue clothing and a pair of old white jean socks. After washing, the socks were light blue and the t-shirt still smells a little of the paint. So after a lot of time and effort, I ended up with a reasonably noticeable color on a t-shirt that can't be washed with anything else and could potentially leach color onto my skin if I wear it during a hard workout at the gym. The experiment taught me a lot, most notably that I don't want to dye my clothes again.
