Superior to anything previously seen

These pots are far superior to anything I have seen in the past. The rolled edge at the top adds strength. The pots hold up better. I used all 100 to plant Vine crops and I only had 1 break and I blame myself for that. Pushed too hard setting the seed. I tried to purchase again and Ebay was out of stock. They recommended a substitute. "Ebay Choice" . so it said. The replacement pots we're smaller in diameter and shorter in height. So much for believing Ebay's Choice.I'm beginning to believe…

Pros
  • Recycled paper is not peat. But they worked as expected.
Cons
  • mold created on the outside of the pot when wet

Worth the Money, Even without Drainage Holes

These are sturdy, definitely worth the money and durable. My only issue is that there is not a drainage hole on the bottom so I have to pierce one in each pot. I did scroll through all photos presented prior to purchase and couldn’t see the bottom of the pots, so I just held out hope. It’s not a huge deal of course, but it would be awesome if that was disclosed prior to purchase.

Pros
  • I like the sturdiness of these pots. I planted many tomato plants to give away to friends
Cons
  • The peat pots can become moldy and cause health hazards to users

Terrible. They mold.

I started all my seeds in these little peat pots, planning to plant the pots with the seedlings in my garden. Well, two waterings in, the pots started to get a little fuzzy. I repotted most of the seedlings right away to get them out of that mess, but I have two tiny trees I'm trying not to disturb until they are a little bigger. It's been a little over a month and this pot is hideous. The other visible in the photo is a little moldy on the bottom, but the main one is terrible. If you're…

Pros
  • Worked well for starting my garden vegetables.
Cons
  • Everyone we used was moldy. I will not buy again.

False Advertisement!

There are many different options to choose from when selecting which pete pots to purchase online. One of the reasons I chose this product is because of the labels that it supposedly came with. It is very handy to have your plant labels when you have an abundance of sprouting herbs and flowers like I do. however they failed to send me my plant labels, very disappointing! :/

Pros
  • The ZOUTOG 3' Peat Pots are an affordable and efficient option for anyone starting their own garden
Cons
  • The pots require careful handling during planting and transplanting, causing damage to the roots of the seedlings

Do NOT waste your money

We've been gardening for 40 years. Seriously regret purchasing these. These pots seem like hard pressed cardboard, not peat. They neither absorb nor drain well. When you water the seedlings, the water sits on top of the soil ( We used Jiffy organic mix). The roots do not grow through the walls of the pots. Other peat pots have had roots through them. Unknowingly, we did an experiment of sorts. We had pumpkin volunteers, which are seeds which survive the winter and germinate. They were growing…

Pros
  • These round peat pots are a convenient and space-efficient way to grow seedlings before transplanting them into the ground
Cons
  • The pots are not durable and can deteriorate with time, causing damage to the plants

These pots grew mold

The othe pots I bought elsewhere are sturdy; however, these pots have disappointed me. I am constantly fighting mold. I should have stuck with the 1st place I bought cups, no mold and holding up through sprouting.

Pros
  • They work as one would expect them to. I like the stick labels included.
Cons
  • The peat pots are made of non-sustainable materials that harm the environment

NOT peat pots on my review.

I have been using peat pots for many years. When this product was the only thing available on Ebay, I bought them. I will NOT purchase these again. I too had the molding problem and the drainage problem. Fortunately I saw the water sitting in the pots in time and used small bamboo sticks I have to punch a whole in the bottom. When I planted the seedlings I made sure ALL the product was peeled off as I had no idea what the mold would do underground. I will recycle the remaining empty pots. DO…

Pros
  • It’s just good. I have used five of little pots. They meet my expectations
Cons
  • The pots are overpriced and not worth the investment

Great for rooting succulents and cuttings, too!

They are working out well and I will order more in the future. 100 is enough for now, though. One hint, though, is that water doesn't drain out readily so be careful when watering seeds or cuttings. Use wet soil to begin with and then just mist them once in a while to keep them moist. I ended up having to tip them on their side to drain out the excess water. No big deal but can be avoided. I suppose you could punch a small hole in the bottom but misting seems to work just fine.

Pros
  • They work great! But definitely don't over water or they grow mold on the outside.
Cons
  • The bottom of the pots is too thin and can puncture, causing water leakage and soil erosion

Great pots for planting into a garden

These pots are great. They are easy to plant, hold up pretty well and are natural looking. The only problem I had was using these in my green house. Some of the pots started to mildew. Not sure why but if I only lose 5 out of 100 I am perfectly happy.

Pros
  • Pots Dimensions: Each is 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. These nursery pots are perfect sized for starting flowers, succulents, vegetable seedlings and other plant seeds.
Cons
  • The pots are not suitable for germinating or propagating seeds effectively

Great value for serious seed starters.

I'm a serious seed starter and these peat pots are a great value. Spent a fair amount for peat pots in the past so I was really excited about the price. Will purchase again.

Pros
  • Like using these for my seedlings. Roots flow through them easily
Cons
  • The pots are poorly designed, leading to uneven water distribution and causing plant dehydration

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Mold easily good for me

These were a good price but they tend to mold much more often then the Jiffy pots. Because of this I tear them away before planting to avoid any more fungus issues

Pros
  • These are rolled over at the top which makes them very sturdy
Cons
  • It’s not a deal breaker for me, but my pots came with no trays or labels

Mushrooms grow from these pots

These do their job, however they started growing mushrooms? No it’s not the soil, I have plastic plant cells and these all holding soil from the same bag. Mushrooms are only growing in these.

Pros
  • Excellent.
Cons
  • The pots are difficult to remove once the roots have grown through them, causing damage to the roots

Great product and price

I needed a large number of these pots for a gardening product I had. They're great, sturdy and yet will dissolve when its time. I also appreciated the set of garden tags. thanks!

Pros
  • With 100 bonus plant labels, you can easily keep track of which plants are which, making gardening easier than ever before
Cons
  • The pots have a limited shelf life, making them unsuitable for long-term storage

Great way to start a grden

Bought these so I can start gardening for the first time. They were very sturdy, especially after the rain. I bought a different kind where they got soft after getting wet. Will buy these again next year.

Pros
  • The lightweight and durable construction of these peat pots makes them easy to handle and transport
Cons
  • The pots are not biodegradable, leading to long-term environmental pollution

Ok in a pinch: my feedback

I have blown through 200 of these. They are harbingers of mold and sad plants because of the way they retain moisture. I kept thinking it was me, until I noticed they barely decompose. Stick with actual peat pots. You and your plants will be happier.

Pros
  • Easy to use. You can plant your transplants directly into the ground.
Cons
  • The pots can attract pests and insects, leading to plant disease and contamination

good for environment, good size for seedling

I started to do a lot of gardening this year due to covid-19 quarantine. I plant seeds as well. I do not like to buy anything in plastic so I was happy to find the peat pots. The size is good for seedlings. I shared small plants with friends with the pots without worrying they do not discard them properly. .

Pros
  • 4'' Plant Labels: can spot them against the dark soil and they can be easily read. Write on them with a pencil or a marker, and cleaned with household cleaner. Made to last, they are strong and durable.
Cons
  • The pots require additional planting containers after the seedlings are established, making the product obsolete

These are NOT peat pots!

These are NOT peat pots. They appear to be made of some kind of compressed paper, not peat moss and shredded wood fibers. As another reviewer commented, these pots neither absorb nor drain well. When we water the seedlings, the water just lays on top of the soil. The pots are too hard to allow the roots to grow through the walls. These are totally unsatisfactory.

Pros
  • Easy To Use: Seeds can be cultured indoors and outdoors, Just grow your seedlings, and then plant them in your yard or garden without removing them from the pots.
Cons
  • The pots are not suitable for plants with deep roots or extensive root systems

Great Seed-Starting Solution

These "pots” are a great size, not the little things like we’ve previously bought. They’re also extremely sturdy. We’re planning on buying more in the future.

Pros
  • The 100 pack of ZOUTOG 3' Peat Pots is an ideal way to start a large-scale gardening project
Cons
  • The pots do not have proper insulation, causing the soil to get too hot or cold

Order and use of peat pots

I owe an apology because I had written the order was short items. However, I found the 10 missing peat pots. They had slipped into a space where I did not see them, but I finally found them. I do apologize. Most times it would not have mattered but I was accounting on 100 pots. They are being used to create May Baskets to deliver to shut-ins.

Pros
  • Prevent Transplant Shock: No transplant shock since there's no need to transfer plants after starting.
Cons
  • The pots are not sustainable and contribute to the depletion of peat bogs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what I wanted. Perfect size & no plastic.

Ordered these to transfer seedlings into something bigger. Exactly what I needed. Perfect size for what I was doing and being able to plant the entire pot is a really nice bonus. Will definitely order again.

Pros
  • Seed Starter Tray: These pots are the ideal choice for indoors seed starting as well! They can help minimize transplant shock, so they're especially good for plants that don't like to have their roots disturbed, such as melons, cucumbers, squash and nasturtiums.
Cons
  • The pots are not user-friendly for gardeners who prefer hands-on gardening techniques
