High Torque Mini Starter for SBC BBC Chevy 3 HP (9200, 12560019, 12563829, 12570230, 12564108, 12570823) - Compatible with 168 Tooth Flywheel - Rareelectrical Review

This starter was lightweight and easy to install, but in the end you get what you pay for. Started off well, then problems started about a month later. The low compression stock 350 stopped spinning after 3 months of use. My advice is to avoid it from my experience.

Soft SBC assembly that the factory starter had trouble with at times. I took this starter, it spins instantly. I love the fact that it looks like an OE starter, but that's where the similarities end. This starter is smaller, lighter and much stronger. Will be buying another one for another build I'm doing.

Worked fine for 1 1/2 months then when changing the oil I noticed the starter housing is now cracked and yes I use the factory specs for tightening the bolts! Appreciate no return after 30 days, received it on April 30th and May 30th was the last day for return, today is 5/8/18, just 9 days after the return date! I AM NOT VERY HAPPY!

Installed a starter motor on the car, tried to start the engine and the starter just buzzed. I pulled it out and checked outside the car and all it did was stick out but not spin. Put the starter back in the box and send it back. Now I'm waiting for my return. don't worry about the starter at all.

Bought 2 in November, installed one on the Chevelle, it has been sanded and just had to change the s10 engine and the mechanic called and said the starter was double duty so good long. The third time I had to tap with a hammer to make it work. Don't expect too much and don't know that the warranty has expired. So choose the best brand because this one has lagged me twice in a few months.

Update! My starter worked for 3 weeks for no reason and started pulling! I ended up sending it back and buying a more expensive one from Summit. I was a bit skeptical about this purchase but after doing some research I found that this stater is very similar to the top selling brand and fits the same models. At half price. I dared and am happy. I have this mini starter on a small block Chevy 400 with a staggered bolt pattern. This starter weighs less and is much lighter. And revs the engine with

Starters received and installed. Worked well for about 15 starts. Then the Bendix began to grab and freeze. I've been asked to replace or at least repair the one I have. It says there that it will fit sbc with a 168 tooth flywheel. Exactly what I have. But since I don't have an OEM part number, they only refund minus a 20% restocking fee. No part advertised as BRAND NEW WITH QUALITY INTERIOR should fail that quickly. Just giving back less than you paid for it is not an option in my opinion…
