Good Quality but wrong screws

I would have given it 5 stars but it shipped with the wrong screws. The appropriate screws for the mounting holes are # 8 pan head, not flat head AND they should be stainless. Even slicker would be black anodized pan heads. Besides that, the quality seems to be good but well see how long the cover will remain on.

  • Easy install, works great with my battery tender and solar panel in my trailer.
Cons
  • The cable may not be long enough for certain applications, requiring the purchase of additional extensions

Reversed Polarity: my feedback

As others have notes within the review section, the polarity is flipped (Black is Red, Red is Black) in the way they wired it to the plug. The "female” part of an SAE is always the Positive, and the "Male” the Negative—with this product just check to make sure your wire colors aren’t flipped to the reserve. Alternatively, you "can” pick up an SAE adapter to reverse polarity, but that’s… lazy, and can lead to issues down the road—especially if said adapter isn’t attached when it needs to be.I…

  • Perfect for my RV macerator. Now I don’t have to haul a heavy battery out every time I need to use it.
Cons
  • Polarity was reversed. This could have cost me over $300 in electronics.

Wired item according to wire color and when checked with a multi-meter discovered that it was reversed polarity. That's my review.

Watch your polarity

With the charging setup on my motorcycle and using a Schumaker float charger, i had to use the black wire for positive and the red for the negative to the battery. Just check the polarity when installing this unit. Other than that, very simple and yet looks durable.

  • Using it for a separate solar panel on my RV while I'm away. Keeping my batteries charged.

  • The plug could potentially short out if exposed to water, causing damage to connected devices
