Works fine for tubeless set up, won't tread in Shrader converter

In a try to convert my old non-tubeless rims to tubeless, I wasn't sure it would work so I bought the cheapest stems and tapes along with Orange Sealant. I removed core and used compressor to pump it with a Shrader converter. Despite the fact that I needed to keep pressing down converter because these stems have no tread at the lower part to receive converter, I set up two wheels instantly without problem. Still holding air after a long ride and a few days.
