Arrived today in great condition -- no creases, thanks to being shipped in a (very attractive) storage tube. It's a rich medium charcoal color with maroon grid, backed with a nice brown suede cloth. (Good graphics.) It was a joy to try a few strokes and see what appeared to be the blackest of ink, fading gradually over a couple of minutes to that smooth clear surface again.

I am a beginner at calligerpgiy writer. I love the way you can reuse it and the lines are an excellent way to keep the right ratio of the letter correct. Great learning tool and probably saves a tree because I don't use paper for practing.

Excellent practice surface, comes rolled in a very sturdy cardboard storage tube, unlike the other ones which are shipped folded, and you can never get the creases out.

It works great, perfect for practicing caligraphy, just be Very careful not to scratch the surface or it turns black like when it gets wet.

Works great. It's huge, but the pictures and things show it with a brush. This doesn't come with a brush. Otherwise. all good.

Perfect.Had to get a smal dowel rod to re-roll the mat tight enough to fit into the holder.Intructions say do not bend. And they are correct. If its not rolled tight enough tbe ends crush a bit and dont seem to be able to flatten.All considered ive had Zen boards before and really like the absorbancy.

I love these calligraphy papers for my children! They are fascinated by the quick drying and that it only takes water to draw with these! They draw and practice letters and then do it all over again several times! No wasted paper, no piles of papers! We are thinking of making this our "go to" birthday present for friends!

These display very dark black brushstrokes on a white background, with a brush loaded with water. The logo is small, but I'd prefer no logo at all on the "paper." It takes a bit of doing to roll them small enough to fit back into the tube, even if you only put one of the two back. The fact that it comes with two is a nice bonus, as is the storage tube, which can also fit a few paintbrushes or calligraphy brushes inside.

Don't believe the reviews posted by people new to Chinese caligraphy. This particular brand of cloth does not work properly. Water spreads soon after it get on to the cloth and whatever you write becomes a blob very quickly. I've used other brands the water always only stayed where the brush had been.
