We bought it just in case. and haven't used it yet. But we tested. We read the instructions and it's so easy to use. Turn it on for 5 minutes for the first use. After that 1 minute start = 15 minutes usage. The volume is good. The flashlight is bright. We were able to pick up a few local stations but needed some adjustments. I liked that you can charge your cell phone.

Receive sensitivity on all bands was much better than I expected. Tuning is a bit finicky - you might have to wiggle back and forth a few times to get a signal, especially for stations that are close together. The very short whip antenna does a very good job - you may have to move the radio around a bit to find the best position to pick up a given signal, but this isn't unexpected. The light is bright enough, the charger feels solid. The sound is metallic, but what do you expect from a 1"…
