Receive sensitivity on all bands was much better than I expected. Tuning is a bit finicky - you might have to wiggle back and forth a few times to get a signal, especially for stations that are close together. The very short whip antenna does a very good job - you may have to move the radio around a bit to find the best position to pick up a given signal, but this isn't unexpected. The light is bright enough, the charger feels solid. The sound is metallic, but what do you expect from a 1" speaker? This is a bug bag winner. Eventually the battery will die, but I'm sure replacing it for those who know how to use one small screwdriver and a soldering iron will not be difficult Summary: At this price you are buying three, one for bag/backpack, one for tackle box, one for glove box.
