Having tried several Vantrue dashcams (X4S, E2 dual, E1 lite, now the E1) I can say they have improved their products with this new generation.The E1 being a 2K camera brings high resolution on a convenient package. The small size makes the camera inobtrusive, but at the same the screen it's too small and the elements on the UI are a little crowded. Nice product, very thoughtful to include a window protector, extra stuff for reapplication.Major problem, living in Florida, it gets hot inside the vehicle, and the screen is attached to the housing with an adhesive that apparently cannot handle it. The screen falls off and dangles by a ribbon cable until I get back in the car to press it back into place. Setup on this dash camera is straightforward and easy to follow. Unlike many other electronics these days, they do include an instruction manual that is actually easy to read. I personally did not use the electrostatic mounting option and just mounted it straight to the windshield. The camera is removable from the dock, which is nice when you want to take it down to hide it. I like the fact that this camera is a small box shape. It doesn't take up that much space. The picture quality is very good. You get a lot of bangs for your buck with this little camera. It comes with everything you need to install and mount to your windshield.

I have a Vantrue N2Pro, pictures for size comparison. As you can see overall the E1 has a smaller footprint, but larger lense and screen.Where I mounted it to the windshield I can just see the bottom green light, to know that it has power. I bought the Vantrue E1 sometime in August. Was needing a dashcam and stumbled onto this one. Its small and compact so its not in your way like some other dashcams. It does have WIFI functionality to be able to connect to it. A remote that either can mute, or save an event. I have owned other vantrue and many other brands, so better, most not. I can tell you this would not be my choice. It completely misses the mark and it's cxon/pro redeeming quality is its size. Yes it will use up to 512 GB mini sd card, but lot of good it does when the picture quality is not very good. Vantrue even has other camera's in this price range i think would be a better choice. I believe this camera is seriously underpowered for processing power. The camera does not continuously record. It will record for a time and then stop itself. You have to manually start recording again. While recording the functions are laggy and not responsive indicating not enough processing power.I returned the 1st camera, same exact issue with the second camera. The size is perfect for my windshield. It doesn’t hamper my vision. The adhesion feels like it may last forever so know exactly where you want to put it before it installing but that’s where it’s staying. The picture quality is great during day and night and it’s just added security while driving.

I’ve used Vantrue cameras before, always satisfied. No different with their new E1 model. It’s compact, attaches to window easily, has too many options to list, but they are all great. It comes in different colors as well. Takes up to a 512k memory card. And did I mention a remote and ability of camera to take verbal instructions? Yes, this camera has it all, and for the money, you get a lot of camera. Highly recommend.
