Cheap solution to a big problem

I was using this on a 2003 Honda Accord when my shift knob popped out and the hardware inside started to crumble. I watched youtube videos and used this kit, swapped out the parts and solved my problem in less than five minutes. MUCH better than paying the mechanic's fees.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • boring packaging

Perfect fit for Honda Accord EX 04

Easy installation. Everything slides and snaps into place just like the OEM. Feels original. For now I would definitely recommend it. If it breaks and fails soon I will update this review. If you don't see any updates while reading, that means I have no problem with that part.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not sure

Poor - Poor fit - No time or effort required

Poor. The button doesn't fit, it's a bit wide and the spring isn't long enough. The button and spring do not properly engage the shift mechanism. I was able to shift gears, but I couldn't get the key out of the ignition in the parking lot. I had to get genuine Honda parts, that was the time and

  • Very impressive

Easy to replace. - Replacement parts

This is exactly what I need to replace a broken control knob on a 2005 Accord. I could probably order just the button and spring, but I ordered a side plate in case I damaged the old one (which I didn't). You'll need to unscrew the two screws holding the shift knob (easy) and you'll need the blue threadlocker to secure them. Work 5 minutes if you know what you're doing and 20 minutes if you don't.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • unreliable

Problem best fixed in body and trim

This article contains everything needed to repair a faulty automatic shift knob on a 2004 Honda Accord. I found a video on YouTube on how to disassemble, clean and reassemble. It turns out this is a very common problem on this car. The problem is easy to solve and all you really need is a Phillips screwdriver, a small flat blade to remove the button cover and a drop of white lithium grease from a small tube.

Pros
  • Multiple Competitors
Cons
  • Clarity

Good price - all you need

Parts as advertised. The price of the kit is half that of original spare parts. The knob may be a tighter fit than the original you are replacing. It may be necessary to scrape off some plastic shavings from the molding process on the button assembly to allow it to slide easily into the shifter. Be sure to lubricate the button assembly with white lithium grease before installing the cover. Once the cover is in place there is no going back as you will likely break one of the brackets on theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Not suitable. The smallest bit is too big, causing the shift knob to bind.

It shouldn't get any stars! It did not fit! It should be, but the way it was done is just a hair's breadth more than my werewolf. I bought two of these thinking the first one was just plain bad. It turned out that both parts are simply not compatible with a real Honda rear derailleur. I had to take from another Honda. I bought a matching part for disassembly. I'm glad I kept looking into the details, otherwise I would have figured I couldn't fix it myself and would have to take it to theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

piss off! for spare parts

This is not exactly what should fit. The inside was too big so I had to file down the sides to allow the button to slide freely. The outer plate doesn't snap in as tightly as it should, leaving a small gap between the side plate and the shift knob. I got it working, but I didn't have to make any changes to what was supposed to. slide right in. Had I known this I would have bought a different brand as there are several options to choose from. UPDATE 04/25/20: The "small" gap on the outer shellโ€ฆ
