Fit and quality were excellent.

I bought this for my 2018 Kia Soul and it worked great. Everything is just plug and play except for drilling a small hole for the ground screw. Since I don't have wire splices, I would definitely buy a Curt wire harness in the future. Directions were good but could be a bit better. As long as you read all the steps before you start and not while you are there, you really won't have a hard time following them.

Installation instructions weren't the best

Had to purchase after installing a tow hitch on my wife's car. According to this review, I was finally able to pull wires through without having to cut the wire like others have done. However I didn't manage to get the tape to the black box and then the car, this requires removing the bumper while the black box is hanging from the wires no matter how exposed to the weather and the black box only weighs a few ounces so I can in this problem do not see.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

That's what you need, so stop looking!

Installed our 2015 Kia Soul+ without LED headlights in about 20 minutes. Pretty easy, but pay extra attention when removing the taillights. I have found that with a plastic knife/tool starting at the top and working your way down there are 3 pop up plastic alignment clips that break when you press on them. Also, don't listen to the whiners about adding cables, they just obviously didn't wire it correctly, the cable is long enough if you run it under the inner seal along the tailgate. I found I…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Will not fit all

The first thing I noticed when opening the packaging were 2 wires that were disconnected from the terminal blocks. I put it back in and proceeded with the installation but found that the passenger side wiring was about 2 feet shorter and I was unable to install it based on the numerous installation videos I found online. After 3 different attempts and more hours later I finally managed to set it up so that the wires weren't visible, only to find that none of my turn signals were working. Okay…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • boring packaging

Green wire too short

I installed this Curt 56222 on my 2016 Kia Soul with no LED lights. I really like the design, but the green wire from the driver's side to the passenger's side could have been a bit longer so there was no need to make a connection. I watched a very helpful installation video on YouTube. I didn't have to make a connection on the green wire, but it was awfully tight. I would give it 5 stars but due to the green wire I'm only giving it 4 stars. Looks like CURT will take up the comments and invest…

Great but not great, needs a little more tweaking than you might think.

As mentioned in previous reviews, it is drilled and joined. I gave it one star because the left turn signal wire, while long enough, is short. It has been taught to pull and I don't think it will handle vibration well so I would recommend fitting a small extension to this cord. The version I bought does not require wiring to the car battery. It easily detaches from my existing 2016 Kia Soul tail light fittings. All in all it was a very simple setup. When placing the module in the right rear…

With an extra foot of wire that would be 5

First of all, this is a kit to get hold of. There are others from different companies, but some of them require the power cord to be routed under the car. This kit doesn't work, so that's a big plus. Installation is very easy with one downside that prevents this kit from getting a 5 from me. There are not enough wires for the passenger side connector to the control box which mounts behind the driver side tail light. This limits the wiring options unless you want to cut and add the wire. It is drilled and spliced.

One star because I paid a high price for a "plug and play" device designed for my car make and model, which has nothing to do with plug and play . Although it can be made to work, the product does NOT live up to its claims and does not perform the function for which it is sold. AKA is plagiarism. I am a very experienced mechanic. I have worked on cars, boats, motorcycles, bikes and houses for many, many years. Everything from starting a new circuit to installing a custom stereo, AC repairs and…
