Cats love this food

We have been feeding our two cats Royal Canin since they were kittens about 6 years ago. The breeder recommended it and we have used it since. The ingredients are healthy and good for them. The cats do prefer the thin slices in gravy to the loaf style. On the other hand, I tried it once on a dare and I cannot recommend it for humans. All I can say is Bleech!Interesting to note that the cats will eat my yogurt, cottage cheese, ice cream, and sliced turkey. Not sure what to make of all that.

Pros
  • Cats
Cons
  • The food may not provide enough nutrients for some cats

Approved by a picky cat

My cat is very picky when it comes to wet food, so I was very relieved to discover this one. I’ve been trying to make sure that he eats some wet food to increase his water intake, but for my brands and flavors he was even interested in trying and would leave everything untouched. He almost always eats the whole portion of this wet food, so it went straight to my Subscribe&Save list :)

Pros
  • Made by a trusted brand with years of experience in pet nutrition
Cons
  • The food may cause gastrointestinal problems in some cats

My Recent Purchases Have More Liquid Less Meat

This review is for the product/manufacturer, not the Seller (I give the Seller 5 stars.) I have been using Royal Canin sliced canned cat food in gravy for over 2 years. My most recent purchase I bought 3 of the 12 pack, 3 oz cans as they did not have the 24 pack. I noticed that about half of the cans in the first 12 had more liquid and less meat and so far 11 of the 12 cans in the second 12 pack. I emailed Royal Canin about this but never heard back. In checking reviews from different sites I…

Pros
  • Low in carbohydrates to support healthy blood sugar levels
Cons
  • The food may not be as satisfying as dry kibble for some cats

Great quality, but picky cats may still be picky.

I love the Royal Canin brand and Kitty goes crazy over their soft food; however, I still can’t get her interested in the hard food (despite receiving it since she was a kitten). I thought this flavor might be different, but it isn’t. She rarely eats more than a few morsels. Bummer! On to the next one.

Pros
  • Hard to find now-a-days but my cat is hooked on it and he is in good shape so I can not complain.
Cons
  • It contains artificial colors and flavors

12 yr old cat's favorite canned food

My cat loves this particular style of Royal Canine product. She likes the other RC brand wet food, but this is her favorite. After my cat had very expensive surgery to remove bladder stones, the vet recommended wet food only and the Royal Canine brand. Vet said dry cat food tends to cause bladder stones because cats by nature get much of their liquids from their food.

Pros
  • Highly digestible to promote healthy digestion
Cons
  • The gravy may congeal or become lumpy over time

Less food, same price.

Out of the blue the delivery went from 5.8 oz pre can to 5.1 oz per can. Price didn’t change. So I get less value and size per can of food for the same $$ without any warning.I’ll be looking for this somewhere else.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The texture of the slices may be too thin for some cats

BEWARE - SOMETHING CHANGED WITH THIS LAST SHIPMENT

I've been buying this food - chicken thin slices in gravy - from kitten to adult for two years. This last shipment looked different with more thickened gravy and a lighter color. The cats still ate it, but my cats soon developed the worst diarrhea. First time ever with this problem, and do not know if the ingredients have changed, but had to stop giving it to them. I'm not taking any more chances. Really disappointed. It's a high-quality product, or has been up until now. They also eat Iams…

Pros
  • Contains no artificial colors or preservatives
Cons
  • The food may not be as nutritionally complete as other wet cat foods on the market

My cat loves it good for me

I use this product for my cat who now needs thyroid medicine for the rest of her life. I was crushing the pill in the food to get her to eat it, but one day tried putting it in without crushing it. Low and behold, she gobbled up the food, pill included. My only criticism goes for this can, and it's the same as the other manufacturers of these TINY cans.I wish it was a regular size can. I'd have to put half as many cans in recycle, and I just prefer a regular size can (6 oz).

Pros
  • Can help maintain ideal weight for cats prone to obesity
Cons
  • The food may cause weight gain or obesity in some cats
