🔍 K&N High Performance Premium Powersport Engine Air Filter: Fits 2003-2009 SUZUKI (SV650, SV650S, SV650SF, SV1000S, SV650A ABS, SV1000) SU-6503 Review

I bought this because the previous owner's filter was full of acorns and dirt. The bike had a noticeable increase in torque but then again my other filter was badly clogged so that was to be expected. A few months have passed and of course everything is fine with him. I bought K&N because I didn't want to risk buying something that might be crap. I would recommend this for any 2nd gen SV650.

This is a direct replacement for the standard SV650 filter. Fits great, sounds great, looks great. No word on performance, but my throttle response seems quicker. Placebo? Who knows. Just read the instructions and make sure you remove the small black gasket at the bottom of the airbox and not at the top or cap. This is a small detail that can cause leaks and headaches. Otherwise folks, thumbs up!

I read that the old K&N filters for the SV650 were a total disappointment. But once they updated them, they were everything K&N was known for. I recently installed this filter. WOW, much better throttle response. I have yet to drive it (due to the fact that I live in Minnesota and winter lasts until March) but the response is day and night. This was a simple upgrade from my 05 sv650s. Stood directly in the standard air box without any changes. I noticed a slight increase in power and a slight increase in mileage (I was flat on the gas at 170 vs. 160 miles). Compared to the Hifiltro filter I had before, it has a much larger surface area to let more air through, allowing for more power and mileage. In short, the investment is worth it. I trust K&N filters and they are installed in most of my cars. They last a long time and work exactly as advertised. You won't hear or feel a gigantic performance boost, but you can rest assured that this filter will perform better than the stock filter, last longer, and be easy to clean and reuse. Note that this filter will add a new sound to your engine once you hit the 5-6k RPM range. You will hear a noticeable "gurgling".
